Up and coming gigs…

Hi All!

I hope this finds you well :)

I am working so hard on my new album ‘Beyond Your Skin’ and will have it out for Christmas this year!! Yeah! It has been a long time coming!

I haven’t been doing many gigs until the album has been completed – but I have a couple which may interest you…

I have a gig supporting After The Fire and the Bill Mason Band…
Fri 21st October 7:30
Wythenshaw Forum
£10 donation to go towards Dalit people (some of the world poorest people in India)

I also have a gig at William Farr School, Welton, Lincoln on Nov 26th at 7:30pm. It’s the high school I went to for 7 years – so I love to go back there!

Much love,

Hannah x

Hey all!

I hope this finds you well!

So… I have been in the studio loads, preparing my new album. V exciting!! We had a sting quartet in on Sunday – I LOVE live strings – they sounded beautiful! The first violinist had just been to Europe to hire a violin that is worth £150,000!!! It sounded amazing! – I should hoe so, carrying something worth as much as a house on your back!

I am looking for an artist / designer who may be interested in joining the creative team I have put together to design the album cover / photography / web-site / stage-design etc etc I have a web-designer / photographer and fashion designer on board already… Could you be the missing designer!!?? If so, please e-mail me at info@hannahatkins.com ASAP!! (Or if you know anyone who may be interested.. please let them know too!) For more info… see the brief below *

This last couple of weeks has been pretty full-on.  I went to London last week to meet with the Levis ‘Shape What’s To Come’ campaign team about how we could possibly work together. There’s a possibility that I may become one of their ambassadors… The web-site is great – check it out… http://en.shapewhatstocome.com. The same day as I left for London, we had a new asylum seeker lady move in to our house. She is lovely! She is from Iran – I need to brush up on my Iranian words again! After having Raza, also from Iran, living with us for over a year, I really should know some words.. (currently I remember NONE!!)…

I traveled quite a lot last week – I went to a funeral in Sheffield – which was really sad.  One of the actors of the theater company that I am trustee for died of an epileptic fit in his sleep.  He was only 27 – it seems really unfair. As far as funerals go, it was a lovely service and I believe he’s in Heaven now – which is better than earth, so at least he’ll be happy.  I really feel for his family and close though :(

On a more happy note, I had a gig at the beautiful Gilpin Lodge Hotel last week too.  It is a gorgeous hotel in The British Lake District.. stunning!! Look at the web-site.  Instead of paying me for the gig – they are going to put us up for three nights – B&B and dinner & spa included… It’s worth nearly £1000, so I’m quite happy about that deal!

Much love to you all!

Hannah xx

Brief for the Artist / Designer project…

The brief for the project is to help create visuals for Hannah’s forthcoming album pencilled in for launch around April. Her site currently features social justice, music and general interest stories about her music and gigs, see - http://www.hannahatkins.com A new micro-site will sit alongside this one, but will be more of a visually led ‘experience space’ than informative. We’re looking for a designer that can contribute to the ideas and concepts that will lead the site and can be carried across other formats… (album artwork and in the gig visuals or installed artwork). You’ll get to work on the storyboard narrative for the showreel alongside web designer Rachael, (www.rachaelkearney.co.uk) and will be able to provide finished artwork that can be ready to go for Flash. These same visuals will be carried across for print for the album and the potential gig space.
So in summary this role is a great opportunity to:
  • Offer input into Hannah’s image alongside a hub of other creatives (Hannah herself, a stylist, a fashion designer and web designer Rachael) (based in Manchester but not a necessary)
  • Develop themes and art direction ideas for the new album
  • Storyboard the Flash Showreel with Rachael
  • Provide artwork that is ready for animation
  • Same visuals can be used on the album artwork
  • Ideas for the live show

Unfortunately this is not a paid project (sorry!) but this is a great opportunity to grow your portfolio with an interesting project and one that has the potential to been seen by a lot of people. You’ll get a chance to show off your illustration skills and design flair alongside other Manchester talent.
