Went away for the first weekend to rest in the Lake District – check out the snow!!

Hi!

Before I forget… I had my hair cut by this really cool guy and promised I would mention him… so he’s called Mark and he’s from Strangeways hairdressers in Surrey – he was in Manchester as a guest stylist for Wella! A real laugh too!! Definitely recommend him!

So… Have had a good run of gigs – was at the Grapevine festival in Lincoln a couple of weekends ago – had a radio show and 3 other gigs… here’s my vblog…

Last weekend – I had a grand gig at Hampton Manor.

This week has been packed with gigs too – Tuesday night at Hale Grill, Wednesday night – a new residency at Barca bar in Castlefield, my Iguana bar residency  residency tonight – tomorrow night at Waveform festival and Sat at my cousins wedding in Birmingham!

Happy bank holiday weekend if you’re in England!

So… Have been busy busy…

Green Bohemia was a really good night! Stuart Avery is a great guy – check out some of the nights his company ‘SA promotions‘ put on. Saw some awesome bands on the same bill as me at Green Bohemia – Was knackered the next day after a full week – had a lie in…

Then we had the GMMAZ (Greater Manchester Music Action Zone) week.  I think I’ve already told you, but I work with GMMAZ on a mentoring scheme.  I mentor two young people who want to get further in the music industry… I’ve got a little clip of my couple of days with the whole mentoring scheme, which includes 5 mentors, about 15 young people, workshop leaders etc.  There was this really amazing beat boxer doing a workshop … got a clip of him for you too…

This last week, I had a few gigs; Lammars, Saki Bar, Mat and Phreds… loads of playing. When I wasn’t playing or mentoring, I was rehearsing! Got another video of these…

Had a manic week – 9 gigs since last Saturday!! I’ve been to London, Devon, Stoke-On-Trent, Manchester….

Did a little Vblog for you….

So…. gig at Tiger Lounge was cool – I was a bit knackered… but met some really cool musician guys who are into social politics etc… really cool – I keep meeting them – we are everywhere and we really are going to take over the world!!

The Sanctuary night that we do for people who are homeless in Manchester (for more info see www.hannahatkins.com/social-justice) was cool this week – met a couple of guys who have had their lives torn apart by heroin.  Drugs are soooooo annoying – they are so destructive and are at the center of so many ruined lives…. It might be a way of ‘escapism’ to begin with – but after a while – people spend the next few years trying to escape from the drug habit. Anyway… it was cool to be able to give them the details of the recovery community we are part of setting up in Manchester. I forgot to video it -sorry – will do next time

Lammars was fun with a band – if you are ever free on a Thursday night in manchester, come down – it’s a great mix of fun and chilled-vibes with loads of sofas.

Last night I was the wedding singer for Nik and Mellissa – WOW!!!! What a wedding venue! I took a Vblog there for you…. I’ll put it up next week…

But for now…. I am putting my computer away for a fun Birthday weekend – full of surprises!! I have been told to pack an over-night bag with various outfits on – the rest of it is SECRET – I don’t have any idea what’s happening!!

Hope this finds you well

The gig at the Verve was great! Really enjoyed myself.  The audience and other musicians were so encouraging – it got a little bit embarrassing after the third round of applause after I’d finished!! It’s such a cute little venue – that there wasn’t anywhere to go after you get off the stage = apart from into the audience… the vibe in Leeds is really different to Manchester – Can’t put my finger on why – but I like the feel!

So… here’s my vblog from the night…

Totally saw a healing miracle! It was amazing!! I know prayer works – I’ve prayed all my life – but somehow it’s still amazing when a prayer gets miraculously answered straight away!! It was so funny how shocked the girl was!!

So… the rest of this week has been ok…. a cool project I’m involved with is a mentoring scheme run by GMMAZ (Greater manchester Music Action Zone) – I am part of a group of 4 mentors who work in the music industry… we each mentor 2-3 young people who may not have opportunities to pursue music,,, and we mentor the.  I did the same scheme a couple of years ago – it’s sooo rewarding

I did a gig tonight at Olives in Edgeworth – near Bolton – north manchester.  It’s in such a beautiful area! Rolling hills, amazing lakes – I love it!  The gig went well Met some cool people.

So… tomorrow I have a gig at Grill On The Alley in Manchester – the food there is awesome.  Come down if you can 8-10pm!
